- Prof. Dr. Hizkias Assefa is a professor of conflict studies at Eastern Mennonite University’s Conflict Transformation Program. Operating out of his base in Nairobi, Kenya, he works as a mediator and facilitator of reconciliation processes in a number of civil wars in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
- Mr. Jonathan Cohen is the director of Programmes for Conciliation Resources.He has acted as a consultant to United Nations Volunteers, the Heinrich Boell Foundation, the Berghof Foundation and taught at the London School of Economics.
- Dr. Tim Epkenhans is currently professor of Islamic and Iranian Studies at the University of Freiburg in Germany. He was previously the director of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. He has also worked for the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
- Prof. Dr. Richard Friedli is Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
- Prof. Dr. Johan Galtung is widely regarded as the one of the founders of the academic discipline of peace research and one of the leading pioneers of peace and conflict transformation in theory and practice. He is the founder and Director of TRANSCEND - A Peace and Development Network for Conflict Transformation by Peaceful Means. He has been awarded numerous prizes for his work, including the Right Livelihood Award (also known as the Alternative Nobel Peace Prize), the Bajaj International Award for Promoting Gandhian Values, and Brage, the Norwegian Literary Prize.
- Mr. Andreas Gross is a Swiss political scientist and historian, a senior Swiss MP and leader of the social democratic group in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In the Council of Europe he has been special rapporteur for Chechnya, UN-Reform, the conflict resolving potentials of autonomous regions, and the state of Democracy in Europe. He is a specialist on Direct Democracy and lecturer on the global comparison of Direct Democracy.
- Prof. Dr. Juan Gutiérrez is an expert in conflict mediation, and has been engaged in the peace movement since 1968. He is the founder of the peace research center "Gernika Gogouratuz" in Guernica, which he headed until 2002. He has worked as an informal mediator among top level policymakers trying to contribute to a peaceful transformation in the Basque conflict.
- Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Hofkirchner is Professor for Internet and Society at the University of Salzburg's Center for Advanced Studies and Research in Information and Communication Technologies & Society. His research focuses on the Foundations of Information Science and Information Society Theory.
- Prof. Dr. Herbert Kelman is the Richard Clarke Cabot Professor of Social Ethics, Emeritus, at Harvard University. He has been engaged for over three decades in the development of interactive problem solving, an unofficial third party approach to the resolution of international and intercommunal conflicts.
- Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Kempf is Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Konstanz in Germany. He is also the editor of conflict & communication online, a refereed academic journal with a trans-disciplinary orientation.
- Ambassador Dr. Georg Lennkh is Special Representative for Africa for the Austrian Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs. From 1993 to 2005 he was the Director-General for Development Cooperation within the Austrian Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs. At the request of the European Union he coordinated the fourth commission of the peace negotiations in Arusha.
- Prof. Dr. Edgar Morin is the President of UNESCO's European Agency for Culture and holder of the itinerant UNESCO Edgar Morin Chair created in 1999 at the Universidad del Salvador in Argentina. As a philosopher and sociologist, Edgar Morin is one of France's leading contemporary thinkers.
- Dr. Claudio Naranjo is known for his innovative therapy, research, and teaching methods. He is considered one of the pioneers of the Human Potential Movement, and heads the SAT Institute. www.claudionaranjo.net
- Prof. Dr. Klaus Ottomeyer is Professor for Social Psychology at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria. He is Co-founder of ASPIS, a research and counseling center for victims of violence.
- Prof. Dr. Tariq Ramadan is a renowned scholar of Islamic Studies, and has contributed substantially to the debate on the issues of Muslims in the West and Islamic revival in the Muslim world. He is active both at the academic and grassroots levels lecturing extensively throughout the world on social justice and dialogue between civilizations.
- Prof. Dr. Oliver Ramsbotham is Honorary Visiting Professor of Conflict Resolution at Bradford University where he led the Centre for Conflict Resolution from 1999 to 2002.
His current work focuses on understanding and responding to radical disagreement.
- Ms. Gabrielle Rifkind is Human Security Consultant to Oxford Research Group and Director of the Oxford Process.
- Dr. Maxim Ryabkov is the Director of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
- Prof. Dr. Klaus Scala is the Director of the Institute for Social Competence at the University of Graz, Austria.
- Dipl. psych. Insa Sparrer is psychotherapist and Co-director of the Institute for Systemic Education, Training and Research, Munich, Germany.
- Dr. Rudolf Rechsteiner is a member of Swiss Parliament, and independent scientist and an expert on sustainable energy.
- Prof. Dr. Matthias Varga von Kibed is Professor for Philosophy at the University of Munich. He is the Co-director of the Institute for Systemic Education, Training and Research, Munich, Germany.
- Dr. Annette Weber is a Research Associate in the Research Unit Middle East and Africa with the German Institute for International and Security Affairs in Berlin. She has previously been the Coordinator for the Ecumenical Network on Central Africa and a researcher in the Eastern Africa Team of Amnesty International. She lectures at the Universidad Jaumel in Spain, and the European Peace University and University of Innsbruck in Austria.
- Prof. Dr. Werner Wintersteiner is a peace researcher and an expert in peace education. He is Professor at the Institute for German Language and Literature Studies at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria.
