Gunther Neumann studied History, Cultural Anthropology, Law and Economics. He also holds a post-graduate degree in International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna; he has done an exchange program at the École Nationale d’Administration in Paris, and has completed extended advanced vocational training, workshops and seminars in conflict resolution and mediation, international relations and international humanitarian law (US-IP, Wilton Park, ICRC, OSCE, Salzburg Global Seminar, and other).
Mr. Neumann has more than 20 years of international experience, including in executive positions with the OSCE, the European Union, the Red Cross in Africa, NGOs, and as a foreign correspondent in conflict areas of South-East Asia and Central America. He has worked in numerous democracy and election observation missions with the EU, the OSCE and the UN in the Caucasus, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
